OK, dear Readers, here is the way it is. When we read the words of truth we must stand up with courage and allegiance to them. All over the world there are untruths cast at us. But as members of the only true church of Jesus Christ on the earth, we know THESE truths are given us of God and our Savior, Jesus the Christ through the Holy Ghost when we pray to KNOW the truth:
From Elder Jeffrey R. Holland in his inspired book, Christ and The New Covenant, the Messianic Message of the Book of Mormon, pp. 113-116, my selected quotation as he wrote it. These are the lessons that missionaries Alma and Amulek taught the people of their time. (Each of Holland's quotations are from the Book of Mormon):
The Savior will come in his glory, the glory of the Only Begotten of the Father, in "not many days" (this prophecy was given in approximately 82 BC)." He would redeem those who would be baptized unto repentance, through faith on his name.
Christ cannot save people "in their sins," although he can save them "from their sins," for no unclean thing can inherit the kingdom of heaven."
Christ can rightfully be called "the very Eternal Father of heaven and of earth, and all things which in them are." He is "the beginning and the end, the first and the last."
He would come into the world to redeem his people, the only ones for whom the Atonement can have full effect being those "who believe on his name." At the time of judgment, we will have a "bright recollection of all our guilt."
The wicked will experience a "second death," a spiritual death pertaining unto things of righteousness, and will be under the power and captivity of Satan, tormented as if in a lake of fire and brimstone."
God calls on his children yet, "in the name of his Son," to repent and claim the promises available only through his "Only Begotten Son." Angels are employed to spread these glad tidings, including the declaration of Christ's coming."
I add my testimony that these things are true and that the Book of Mormon is a divine instrument that changes lives and dispels the darkness of human error and sin. Isn't that great?!
